I’ve learned over the past few years to ride the Drew Brees train in nationally televised games at the superdome, as the Saints QB is a flawless 10-0 (SU and ATS) in these games since 2010, completing 73.4 percent of his throws for 3,293 yards, 33 TD and 4 INT. The Saints have won these games by an average score of 22 points. But Brees and New Orleans don’t just dominate in prime time, as they pretty much abuse whoever comes to the Big Easy. Since the start of 2011, the Saints are 8-1 ATS (89 percent) at home coming off a road loss, and 12-2 ATS (86 percent) as a home favorite of seven points or less. They have outgained visitors by 179 yards per game at home this year, winning their six home games by an average score of 33 to 16. Now having said all this it would seem like the easy lay down lock pick of the week for NFL right? In the words of Lee Corso, “not so fast my friend.” Even though Drew has been “BREESING” his way through opponents at home they have only really been at home against a team with a decent secondary and pass rush –the 49ers. Yes, they beat the 49ers but by a FG, nothing like the ASS whipping Louisiana beat down the Saints dropped on Buffalo, Miami and Dallas. Expect the Carolina D to bring the HEAT and a decent running attack to keep Brees off the field a bit more than usual tonight. I believe this one could go down to the wire with a late go ahead score and possible win for the saints but Im grabbing the points and jumping on Cam Newton and the Panther’s D tonight.
